Description
Vientiane province, Laos.
Erect wooden Buddha, painted and gilded; lacking in hands, feet and usnisha.
The figure is proportioned and elegant, the monastic vestment covers the body,
the belt, tightened at the waist, drapes the cloth in front. The head with a rafi-
ned hair, the big out-turned lobes and the closed eyelids confer serenity and
grace.
